Academic Policy

AET ProgramGPA Policy

A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. A grade of C or better must be earned in all courses required by the program.

P/N Grading Policy

A limited number of P/NC credits are accepted toward the major at departmental discretion. No more than 1/4 of all undergraduate credits may be P/NC, except those courses offered P/NC only.

Probation Policy

A minimum of 50 percent of the credits for a major or minor in Automotive Engineering Technology must be taken at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In addition to the general transfer–of–credit policies for students transferring to Minnesota State University, Mankato, the following policy will be followed in giving credit in Automotive Engineering Technology courses. For students transferring from two–year or four–year colleges, up to 28 AET credits will be accepted if the transcript is from an ABET–accredited school. If the school is not accredited by ABET, Minnesota State University, Mankato will accept up to 14 credits. Grades of transfer credit must be C or better to be acceptable for substitution for all required technical studies, basic science and mathematics, and communication courses in the major.

Required Courses

A suggested schedule for Automotive Engineering Technology students is shown below on the CUT sheet. The rest may be obtained from the Automotive Engineering Technology Program Coordinator. Prerequisites must be observed. A [DOC] flow chart of prerequisites (93 KiB) is available online and at the department office.
